Unleash Your PhD is a 5-day event for researchers who want to take their research beyond academia. A lot of knowledge is trapped in academic journals and conference proceedings. We want to help researchers free this knowledge, reach more people and create more impact!
On this page, you’ll find all kinds of resources meant to make your life as a speaker as easy as possible and answer any questions you might have. If you run into a question we didn’t answer, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Let’s do a quick rundown of how the whole thing will work.
The event will run from 24-28 October 2022 with 4-5 pre-recorded presentations running each day. These presentations will include 25-30 minutes of actionable content, including a 3-minute pitch.
While the presentations are pre-recorded, all speakers are asked to interact with attendees and answer questions. There will also be networking sessions for purchasers of the Unleasher Power Pack. Attendance as a speaker is not required, but of course you’re more than welcome to join us!
Leading up to the summit, we’ll have a promotion period. You’ll be provided with email swipe copy, social media swipe copy, and social media graphics to make it all easy! We’ll even have a suggested posting/sending schedule for you to make promo easy.
During the promotion phase, as the summit is running, and for a weekend after the summit is complete, we’ll also be promoting the Unleasher Power Pack. This includes an All-Access Pass for the replays of all presentations and worksheets, as well as additional bonuses we’ll all throw in. This will provide immense value to our attendees, while making the work of promoting and creating a presentation worthwhile by allowing you to bring in affiliate commissions. Woop!
So this all sounds great, buuuut what kind of work does it require of you? Let’s chat about it! Our goal is to make this all as easy as humanly possible so we can all have a blast while providing great value, helping loads of people, and growing our businesses.
The first thing we’ll need is some very basic information so we can include you in our homepage and Speakers page. This information includes:
▣ Title of your presentation
▣ Bio (up to 200 words)
▣ Square headshot (400px by 400px)
Once you give us the thumbs up that you’re in, we’ll send you a link where you can upload all this information super easily.
Next up is your presentation! This is a 25-30 minute pre-recorded presentation that is meant to be more friendly and casual than perfect and structured. We want our attendees to learn something great, while having fun in the process.
Presentations will be free to watch for 24 hours. If attendees need more time to go through all presentations, they have the option to purchase the Unleasher Power Pack, which will include extended access to all presentations and a workbook, alongside bonus recources not available for free.
Please structure the content of your presentation in a way that allows attendees to walk away feeling like they’ve really learned something, rather than a webinar format where they feel like they’re missing something that they need to buy from you asap.
With that being said, you have your choice of the following presentation formats:
(b) Talking head (No slides; just your gorgeous/handsome face)
(c) A mixture of slides and talking head
(d) Interview-style – If you’d like to go with the interview style presentation, schedule a time with us via email. You’ll still be responsible for editing if any is needed, but we’ll work together to come up with questions.
Your presentation should include great, actionable content. Here’s an example of how you could structure your presentation:
1) A quick introduction
2) An overview of your topic
3) Where people go wrong with your topic
4) Teaching section
5) Specific action steps
6) Up to a 3-minute pitch
If you would like to collect emails from attendees, you may create a freebie and offer it alongside your presentation. We encourage short worksheets that go hand-in-hand with your presentation and encourage action. There are a few reasons behind this:
▣ They encourage people to take action, which increases the perceived value of our presentation
▣ It’s an easy way for viewers to take notes
▣ You’ll be able to capture the email addresses of people interested in your topic and add them to your mailing list.
As this is an optional step, we will not assist you in creating the content for the worksheet.
If you choose to create a worksheet, you will have to send us a working link where attendees will download your freebie (and subscribe to your email list).
The Unleasher Power Pack will be a huge addition to the presentations we’re running. The main function of the Power Pack is to provide extended access to all presentations in the summit, along with the summit workbook. However, we would like to sweeten the deal for people who choose to purchase the Power Pack and make it even more valuable, so it is a “no-brainer” for attendees. To make it even more valuable, we are asking each of you to provide one bonus resource to add. While this isn’t required, it’s highly encouraged that you participate.
Bonus resources can be things like eBooks, worksheets, courses (big or small), 1-month/taster memberships, a considerable discount for your products etc. It’s totally up to you to decide whether you’d like to create something new or provide something you already have.
If you have an idea but are not sure whether it would work, just shout an email and we can discuss it.
Anyone who does contribute a paid resource (aka not something you’re already giving away for free somewhere else) will get a higher affiliate commission on sales (please see commission structure on the affiliate details tab below).

Please note: we would be happy to host this resource for you if you prefer, but if you would like to collect emails of the people who interact your resource, you will have to set this up yourself.
The power of an online summit comes from a group of experts coming together for a single cause. The joint promotion that happens because of that is a huge benefit to everyone involved.
Because of that, everyone is encouraged to share on social media and to email their lists. You may post “teasers” earlier, but we encourage you focus most of your efforts during the month of October, as cart will only open on 1 October 2022.
You’ll want to share using your affiliate link (which you will be able to set up closer to the time) so you can get in on the commission that will come from your Power Pack sales (between 40% and 60% depending on whether you have contributed to the Power Pack).

And last comes participation during the week of the event. Since we’ll already have done the work of creating the presentations and extra resources, we’ll be able to sit back and relax for the most part!
All we ask is that you are available to answer attendees’ questions to help attendees stay excited and engaged. More details about this closer to the date.
While you are not required to attend the events of other speakers, it’s highly encouraged! We’ll be able to get some great discussions going about the topics being presented.
While summits are great for overall visibility and making new connections, a little extra income never hurts either, right?
That’s exactly why we’ve set up an affiliate program for the Unleasher Power Pack where you’ll receive a commission from all sales from traffic you refer to the event.

The pricing will depend on the contributions, and you will hear more about it closer to the date. However, just so you can have an idea, this was last year’s structure:
Payouts of all affiliate sales up until 31 October 2022 will be made by 30 November 2022.
To make it as easy as possible for you to generate extra income, the Resources Vault will include things like email swipe copy, social media copy, and social share graphics. However, you’re more than welcome to write your own copy and advertise to your audience however you see fit.

As with all affiliate promotions, be sure to disclose that you’re an affiliate when sharing with your audience.
